Create a shot list

Wedding Desk is currently in beta. These guides describe the workflows that are available now. Some articles are still being expanded with fuller instructions, screenshots and video.

What this article covers

Use Shot list to plan must-have shots, family groups and image priorities for the wedding day.

What belongs in Shot list

Use Shot list for images that need to be remembered, tracked or connected to the timeline.

Good shot list items include:

  • must-have ceremony moments
  • family groups
  • couple portraits
  • key reception moments
  • photo or video priorities
  • details that should not be missed

Do not use Shot list as a generic inspiration dump. Keep it useful for the day.

Priorities

Shot list priorities help you decide what matters most:

  • Must have: missing this would be a real problem.
  • Important: try to capture it if the schedule allows.
  • Nice to have: useful inspiration, but not critical.

Steps

  1. Open the project.
  2. Go to Shot List.
  3. Review the timeline-linked shot plan.
  4. Click Add shot or Add must-have shot.
  5. Add the shot title or description.
  6. Choose a priority.
  7. Choose Photo, Video or Both if that field is shown.
  8. Add location or timeline context if needed.
  9. Save the shot.

How shots connect to the timeline

Shots can be grouped by timeline moments. Use Link shots to timeline moments when a shot belongs to a specific part of the day.

Where shots appear later

Shareable shots can appear in On The Day and Share / Print output. Internal or sensitive items should not be treated as public output.

Tips & suggestions

  • Keep must-have shots short and concrete.
  • Put family formals in Family groups.
  • Link shots to timeline moments when timing matters.
