What this article covers
The price calculator helps you build a quote estimate. It is useful for checking package price, coverage, add-ons, travel, discount, VAT or tax and payment schedule assumptions.
It is not payment processing, invoicing or accounting software.
Calculator sections
The calculator can include these areas:
- Currency for the currency code, symbol, rounding and number of decimal places.
- Package type for Photo, Video or Photo + Video suggestions.
- Base price, Included hours and Extra hour rate.
- Coverage needed for the amount of time the wedding requires.
- Add-ons for fixed, hourly, per-item or per-kilometre extras.
- Travel as off, a fixed fee or a per-kilometre charge.
- Discount as off, a percentage or a fixed amount.
- VAT / tax as off, exclusive or inclusive.
- Payment as none, a deposit and balance, or an equal split.
- Profit check for reviewing whether the quote still makes business sense.
- Quote total for the resulting estimate.
Package types
Package type changes the suggested editing hours in the profit check. Your prices stay unchanged.
Every amount in the calculator is yours to enter. Wedding Desk never fills in a package price or hourly rate for you, because what a wedding costs differs per photographer and per country.
Currency and worldwide use
The currency selector supports currencies from around the world. Common currencies appear first and the rest can be searched by code or name.
Changing currency keeps the numbers you entered and does not apply an exchange rate. Wedding Desk automatically uses the correct number of decimal places for the selected currency.
Steps
- Open the calculator.
- Choose the quote currency.
- Choose a package type.
- Enter the four package fields.
- Add and price any add-ons.
- Add travel, discount and VAT or tax if relevant.
- Choose a payment schedule if you want to show payment parts.
- Check Profit check.
- Review Quote total and its breakdown.
- Copy, print or save the quote using the actions available on that calculator page.
Use Reset calculator when you want to clear the current calculation. The currency stays selected and every field returns to zero.
What the calculator does not do
The calculator does not collect money, charge cards, create a payment link, mark anything as paid or create a legally final invoice by itself.

Which calculator should you use
Use the free public calculator for quick public estimates. Use the main Calculator for drafts that do not belong to a project yet. Use the project calculator when the quote belongs to one specific wedding project.

- Set currency and VAT preferences before preparing serious quotes.
- Review your business terms before sending a quote to a client.
- Treat the calculator as a planning and quote helper, not as accounting software.
