Set workspace preferences

Wedding Desk is currently in beta. These guides describe the workflows that are available now. Some articles are still being expanded with fuller instructions, screenshots and video.

What this article covers

Workspace preferences control default settings that can affect how Wedding Desk displays pricing, dates, time and tool guidance.

What preferences are for

Preferences are workspace-level settings. They are not the same as project details. A preference gives Wedding Desk a default. A project detail belongs to one wedding.

For example, your default currency can help the calculator start in the right currency. A project can still have its own project-specific context.

Steps

  1. Open Preferences.
  2. Review the default currency.
  3. Review VAT mode, VAT rate and VAT label if those fields are shown.
  4. Review booking fee percentage if you use it in pricing.
  5. Review date format, time format and week start settings.
  6. Turn tooltips on or off if that option is shown.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Wait until the page shows the saved state.

What happens after saving

Wedding Desk stores the preferences for your workspace. Currency and VAT settings are most relevant to calculator and quote-related screens. Date and time settings support planning screens, timeline displays and calendar-style views.

How this connects to other areas

Use Set date, time and currency if you want a more specific explanation of those settings.

Use Timeline templates when the preference you need is about starter templates or saved timeline templates.

Tips & suggestions

  • Set currency and VAT settings before building serious quotes.
  • Set date and time display before you start checking project schedules with clients.
  • Keep tooltips on while learning the app, then turn them off later if you prefer a quieter workspace.
