Wedding Desk is currently in beta. These guides describe the workflows that are available now. Some articles are still being expanded with fuller instructions, screenshots and video.
What this article covers
Timeline templates help you start faster and reuse strong planning structures.
Template types
Wedding Desk has two template types:
- Starter templates: built-in templates such as Full day with first look, Full day no first look, Church ceremony, Civil ceremony, Half day coverage and Multi-location wedding.
- My templates: templates you saved from your own project timelines.
For choosing a starter template, see Start with a timeline template.
Where templates are used
Templates can appear when starting or switching a project timeline. They can also be managed from Timeline template preferences.
Steps
- Open Wedding Timeline.
- Choose Use starter template when you want a built-in structure.
- Choose Use my template when you want one of your saved structures.
- Use Switch template if the current structure is wrong for the wedding.
- Review the created timeline moments.
- Edit times, locations and notes for this project.
What happens when you use a template
Wedding Desk creates timeline moments from the selected template. The project timeline is still editable. The template does not finish the plan for you.
What happens when you manage saved templates
Renaming, duplicating or deleting your templates changes what you can reuse later. It does not automatically change project timelines that already exist.
Tips & suggestions
- Use starter templates when you need a quick first draft.
- Save your own template when a project structure is likely to repeat.
- Remove client-specific notes before saving a timeline as a template.
