Wedding Desk is currently in beta. These guides describe the workflows that are available now. Some articles are still being expanded with fuller instructions, screenshots and video.
What this article covers
Use Gear Preparation to build a project gear checklist. It helps you prepare equipment for one wedding.
It is not a full studio inventory system.
What belongs in the gear list
Use Gear list for items that need to be packed, checked or remembered for this wedding:
- camera bodies
- lenses
- memory cards
- batteries
- audio gear
- lighting
- supports and stands
- chargers
- tools and utility items
- backup equipment
Starting options
You can start blank or use templates when available. See Use gear templates if you want to start from a reusable structure.
Steps
- Open the project.
- Go to Gear Preparation.
- Open Gear list.
- Click Start blank if you want to build the checklist yourself.
- Or click Use standard template or Load template if a template fits.
- Add categories and gear items.
- Set item status such as Pending or Packed.
- Mark critical items as Critical if missing them would be a serious problem.
- Click Save.
What happens after saving
The gear list is saved to the project. Gear can appear in On The Day and Share / Print summaries when the output includes gear.
Project-wide versus linked gear
Some gear is useful for the whole project. Other gear belongs to a specific part of the day. If the UI offers timeline linking, use it for gear that matters at a specific moment.
Use Prepare project gear for the packing and status workflow.
Tips & suggestions
- Mark audio, power, media and backup items carefully.
- Use Critical only for items that would create a real problem if missed.
- Print or download an output if you want a backup packing list.
